IPL 2024, SRH vs LSG: Lucknow Super Giants Win Toss, Opt To Bat First; Check Playing XIs

Hyderabad: Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) campaign has hit a snag after a promising start this season. Initially considered favourites for the playoffs, they now face an uphill battle to secure a spot in the final two.

With Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and Rajasthan Royals (RR) seeming to have secured their places, the competition for the remaining slots primarily involves Chennai Super Kings (CSK), Lucknow Super Giants (LSG), Delhi Capitals (DC), and SRH.

SRH, having lost three of their last five matches, aim to bounce back against KL Rahul’s LSG tonight. Fatigue might play a factor for SRH, having played a match just the day before. Captain Pat Cummins seeks a turnaround after a recent loss against Mumbai Indians (MI), particularly looking for improved performance from the middle-order.

LSG, on the other hand, aim to recover from their recent heavy defeat against KKR and keep their playoff hopes alive. Having reached the top four in previous seasons, failure to replicate or surpass their past performance would be a setback.

This encounter marks the first and only meeting between the two teams in the group stage of IPL 2024. LSG hold a 3-0 advantage historically and aims to maintain their dominance at the Rajiv Gandhi Stadium.

The Hyderabad pitch has favoured batsmen throughout the season, and similar conditions are expected on Wednesday. Weather, however, might be a factor, with thundershowers forecasted for the day.
