A Woman Killed, 4 Injured in Group Clash Between 2 families Over land Dispute

Kendrapara: A woman died and four others were seriously injured in a violent clash between two families over a land dispute at Sangrampur village under Rajkanika police station limits in Kendrapara district on Wednesday.

The deceased was identified as Sushila Nayak, the sister of one Panchanan Nayak.

According to reports, this violent group clash occurred because of a longstanding land dispute between Panchanan Nayak and his neighbour Sunakar Nayak. An altercation over the matter in evening, got ugly and sparked the violent clash.

A total of five persons from both families were injured in the clash. They were admitted to the Rajkanika Community Health Centre (CHC).

As the health condition of Sushila and two others deteriorated they were shifted to the Kendrapara district headquarters hospital. Sushila died while undergoing treatment. The condition of the other two remains critical. Police have launched an investigation into the matter.
