Marital Tussle’s Ugly Turn, Woman Jumps Into River With Infant In Front of Hubby in Kendrapara

Kendrapara: Because of an alleged marital tussle, a woman jumped into Kharasrota river with her nine-month-old daughter in front her husband in Aul area of in Kendrapara district on Friday.

Luckily, both the mother and daughter were rescued by the locals. Both were admitted to the Aul Community Health Centre. Later on they were shifted to the Kendrapara District Headquarters Hospital.

As per reports, the woman who was married to a man of Khandol village under Aul police station limits was involved in some major marital dispute. On Friday, while travelling to her parent’s home along with her husband and daughter in an autorickshaw, she again had a quarrel with her husband.

The woman repeatedly asked the driver to stop the vehicle. When the vehicle wasn’t stopped, she jumped into the river along with her daughter from Gadadadi bridge near Aul.

But locals present on the spot, managed to rescue the mother and her daughter from drowning. The husband also jumped into the river in a bid to rescue his wife and daughter.

According to the treating doctors, the condition of the child and her mother is stable now.
