Swati Maliwal ‘Face of BJP Conspiracy’ Against Kejriwal, Alleges AAP

New Delhi: The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has accused the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) of orchestrating a conspiracy to frame Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, following assault allegations made by Rajya Sabha MP Swati Maliwal.

The Delhi Police on Thursday registered an FIR against Bibhav Kumar, Kejriwal’s personal assistant, for allegedly assaulting Maliwal at the Chief Minister’s official residence. AAP leaders have vehemently denied the allegations, calling them baseless.

Delhi Minister and senior AAP leader Atishi addressed the media on Friday, asserting that a newly surfaced video contradicts Maliwal’s claims. Atishi alleged that the BJP, frustrated by Kejriwal’s interim bail in the excise policy case, is attempting to malign him through this incident. She claimed Maliwal was part of this conspiracy, arriving at the CM’s residence without an appointment on the morning of May 13, with the intention of making false accusations.

“Maliwal threatened the guards, claiming she could get them fired, and forcibly entered private areas of the residence, demanding to meet Kejriwal,” Atishi said. She added that officials informed Maliwal of the CM’s unavailability, but she refused to leave and later verbally abused Bibhav Kumar.

Atishi highlighted that the video shows Maliwal sitting comfortably in the drawing room, contradicting her FIR allegations of being brutally assaulted, which included claims of being slapped, kicked and having her clothes torn.

Maliwal responded on social media, suggesting that efforts were being made to protect the accused. “Like every time, this political hitman has started making efforts to save himself,” she posted on X, without naming anyone directly.

Bibhav Kumar has also filed a complaint against Maliwal, further complicating the case. As investigations continue, the political fallout from these accusations is expected to intensify.
