African Flesh Trade Racket Busted in Navi Mumbai, 2 Arrested, 8 Rescued

Mumbai: An African prostitution racket operating in Navi Mumbai was busted by the police. The raiding police team arrested two African women for running the sex racket and also rescued eight African women from the spot.

Police raided a house in the Kharghar area of Navi Mumbai on Wednesday night following a a tip-off that some women from Africa were running a prostitution racket there. Police arrested two of them, while another woman managed to escape from the spot.

Eight African women, in the age group of 25 to 30 years, were rescued from the spot and were sent to a rescue home.

The arrested duo and their absconding accomplice were booked under Indian Penal Code (IPC) sections 370 (trafficking of person) and 120B (criminal conspiracy) and under the Immoral Traffic (Prevention) Act.
