After Quran, Sweden Allows Burning Bible & Torah During Protest

Swedish authorities have permitted a protest outside the Israeli Embassy in Stockholm, which will involve the burning of Torahs and Bibles, stated Sveriges Radio.

The European Jewish Congress (EJC) through a press release on Friday strongly condemned this decision made by Swedish authorities.

Israeli President Isaac Herzog also denounced the decision made by Swedish authorities through a tweet that stated, “I unequivocally condemn the permission granted in Sweden to burn holy books. As the President of Israel, I condemned the burning of the Quran, sacred to Muslims the world over, and I am now heartbroken that the same fate awaits a Jewish Bible, the eternal book of the Jewish people,” Herzog tweeted.

In June, a man burned a copy of the Quran outside a mosque in the Swedish capital resulting in protests from Muslims all over the world.
