Alleging Infidelity, Man Kills Wife, Surrenders Before Police in Angul District

Angul: A man named Sarat Khuntia throttled his wife to death and surrendered before the police confessing the crime in Angul district.

This murder occurred in the Rengali Project area in the Kaniha Block of Angul District.  The deceased Indira Khuntia was strangled with a rug following a marital dispute, said police sources.

The accused Sarat surrendered at the Rengali police station. A preliminary investigation hinted that Sarat killed his wife Indira because he suspected that she was having an affair with someone else.

Sarat and Indira had a love marriage although Indira was older than him. They have three children. Sarat and his elder son had migrated outside Odisha for livelihood. After returning, Sarat committed this crime.
