Archana Nag gets Bail in a Sextortion case, But Release from jail Still Far

Cuttack: Archana Nag got conditional bail from the Orissa High Court on Wednesday in an alleged sextortion case filed against her at Khandagiri police station.

But she cannot get released from jail as the case filed against her is still pending.

In April this year, Archana Nag was granted bail in a case lodged at Nayapalli police station.

Archana Nag is alleged to be the kingpin of a honeytrap racket. She was arrested by Khandagiri Police on October 6, 2022. She was booked for human trafficking, Section 370 of IPC, and other offenses.

As per the allegation made by her former associate, Shradhanjali Nayak, she lured and forced women into prostitution. Film Maker Akshay Parija had lodged an FIR at Nayapalli police station alleging that Archana was trying to extort Rs 3 crore from him by threatening to leak his obscene videos.

Archana had moved the high court after the second additional sessions judge, Bhubaneswar, rejected her bail plea.
