Nabarangpur: A group of armed dacoits managed to loot Rs 14 lakh and ornaments from the house of a businessman at Bhalukanadi village under Nabarangpur’s Jharigaon block on Sunday night.

According to reports, a group of around 10 masked armed miscreants entered the house of businessman Amiya Kumar Dash’s house at night, while the family was sleeping. The armed dacoits tied up Amiya and threatened to slit his throat with a sword. They escaped with the cash and valuables in the house.

The masked miscreants were reported to be interacting in Hindi. Personnel of the Jharigaon police station have started a manhunt to nab the culprits.

On January 27, armed miscreants looted two other houses at Chakalapadar Panchayat in the Jharigaon block. It is suspected that a gang of armed dacoits from adjoining Chhattisgarh may be involved in all these loots.
