Details About 4 Odisha LS Constituencies Going to Polls on May 13

Bhubaneswar: Voting will be held in four Lok Sabha constituencies and Assembly seats under them in the first phase polling in Odisha.

The constituencies going to polls on that day are:

Kalahandi:

In this Lok sabha seat, the fight is between Malvika Keshari Deo of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Lambodhar Nial from the Biju Janata Dal (BJD) and Draupadi Manjhi of the Indian National Congress (INC).

At present the constituency has BJP MP Basanta Kumar Panda as its representative.

Kalahandi LS seat has seven Assembly constituencies- Nuapada, Khariar, Lanjigarh, Junagarh, Dharmgarh, Bhawanipatna and Narla.

Nabarangpur

This Lok Sabha seat reserved for ST candidates has Congress candidate Bhujbal Manjhi, BJP nominee Balabhadra Majhi and Pradeep Majhi from the BJD as its contestants.

It has seven Assembly constituencies- Umerkote, Jharigam, Nabarangpur, Dabugam, Kotpad, Malkangiri and Chitrakonda under it.

Berhampur

In this key parliamentary constituency of Odisha, the contest is between BJP’s candidate Pradeep Kumar Panigrahy, the MLA of Gopalpur, BJD’s Bhurgu Baxi Patro, the former Odisha BJP vice president who shifted sides and Rashmi Ranjan Pattnaik of the Congress.

It is now having BJD’s Chandra Sekhar Sahu as its MP. The Berhampur Lok Sabha constituency has Chhatrapur, Gopalpur, Berhampur, Digapahandi, Chikiti, Mohana and Paralakhemundi assembly segments under it.

Koraput

Congress candidate and sitting MP Saptgiri Sankar Ulaka, BJP nominee Kaleram Majhi and BJD’s Kausalya Hikaka are contesting in the Koraput parliamentary constituency reserved for SC candidates.

Koraput LS seat comprises seven Assembly constituencies- Gunupur, Bissam-Cuttack, Rayagada, Lakshmipur, Jeypore, Koraput and Pottangi.
