Students’ Organization Observes Bandh in Jharsuguda for Better Educational Facilities

Jharsuguda: A 12-hour bandh call given by a students’ organisation disrupted normal life in Odisha’s Jharsuguda on Monday. The agitating students are demanding concrete measures to alleviate the educational facilities in the district.

Shops, markets and other commercial establishments had their shutters down during the 12-hour bandh. But the vehicular traffic remained unaffected in the district.

The protestors picketed at several places in the district.

As a precautionary measure, security was enhanced through the deployment of extra police force in different parts of the district.

Different associations and social organizations extended support to the bandh call given by the students’ organisation.

The bandh supporters demanded the government to establish a degree college for 19 villages in the Lakhanpur block, setting up PG, B.Ed, and Mining Engineering courses as well as a Government Engineering College in the district.
