Schools Closed in Odisha for 3 Days Because of Extreme Heatwave Conditions

Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Government on Wednesday declared the closure of all schools in the state from April 18 to 20 because of the prevailing extreme heatwave conditions in the state. As per a notification issued by the I&PR department, the schools in Odisha will remain closed for a period of three days till April 20, 2024.

As per the government order, all government, aided and private schools of the state will remain closed during these three days.

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecasted that heatwave conditions are likely to continue in Odisha till April 20.

Citizens have been advised to take precautionary measures while going outside during the daytime between 11 am and 3 pm.
