Asia Cup 2023: Kohli, KL Rahul, Bumrah Shine in India’s Massive Win Over Pakistan

Colombo: India registered a massive win over Pakistan in their Asia Cup match at the R. Premadasa Stadium in Colombo on Monday night.

Remarkable centuries by KL Rahul and Virat Kohli were followed by Kuldeep Yadav’s five for 25 that led India to a 228-run victory. It was their biggest win of India against Pakistan in terms of runs.

Pakistan never really got going in their chase of 357. They ended their innings on 128 with the injured Naseem Shah and Haris Rauf deciding not to bat.

After Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Siraj produced a surreal display of swing bowling, Hardik Pandya got into the act before Kuldeep ran through the middle and lower order. Pandya produced the ball of the match to knock over an in-form Babar Azam.

Pakistan just crumbled thereafter as none of the batters managed to put up a resistance.

Kohli added to his bag of ODI milestones. He became the fastest to 13,000 ODI runs, taking only 267 innings, 54 fewer than Sachin Tendulkar (321). This was also Kohli’s 47th century.
