BJP Denies Ticket to Sitting MP Kirron Kher from Chandigarh, fields Sanjay Tandon

Chandigarh: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Wednesday decided to drop sitting MP and actor Kirron Kher from the contest for the Chandigarh Lok Sabha constituency. The saffron party announced its former Chandigarh unit chief, Sanjay Tandon as the candidate from the Union Territory.

Kirron Kher won from Chandigarh in 2014 and 2019 as a BJP candidate.

Tandon is at present is Himachal Pradesh BJP’s co-in charge. According to sources, the Chandigarh BJP unit had sent the names of former MP Satya Pal Jain, ex-party presidents Sanjay Tandon and Arun Sood to the high command as nominees for the ticket. Kirron Kher’s name was not included in the list.
