BJP Takes Lead In Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh; Congress Front-Runner in Telangana

New Delhi: Vote counting for the 2023 Assembly Elections is underway in Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh, and Telangana, serving as a crucial precursor to the upcoming general elections. Initial trends indicate BJP leading in Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh, while Congress is ahead in Telangana.

Mizoram’s vote counting, initially slated for December 3, was rescheduled to December 4 due to the significance of Sunday for the Christian-majority state.

Exit polls offered a  diverse predictions, favoring BJP in Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan, and Congress in Telangana and Chhattisgarh. The Congress, in power in Rajasthan and Chhattisgarh, confronts BJP in Madhya Pradesh, while Telangana’s ruling Bharat Rashtra Samithi aims for a hat-trick.

Counting started at 8 am with a three-tier security setup for 230 seats in Madhya Pradesh, 90 in Chhattisgarh, 119 in Telangana, and 199 in Rajasthan. Mizoram’s polling, concluding on November 30, will be counted on December 4.
