BJP Leader Shot Dead in UP

Lucknow: A BJP leader Pramod Yadav was shot dead by unidentified assailants outside his house in Bodhpur village of Jaunpur district in Uttar Pradesh. Yadav was the district BJP secretary.

Motorcycle-borne culprits fired three rounds at the 55-year-old BJP leader and escaped from the spot. They later abandoned the motorcycle at a place some distance away from the crime spot.

Yadav breathed his last while being rushed to the district hospital.

Pramod Yadav’s father Rajbali Yadav was also shot dead in 1980. Rajabali was associated with the Jan Sangh.

The police have seized the bike used in the crime.

Meanwhile, tension prevailed in Bodhpur village where additional police have been deployed to prevent any untoward incident.

Pramod Yadav was the former district president of BJP Kisan Morcha too. In 2012, he contested the assembly elections from Malhani on a BJP ticket, but was defeated.
