BJP MP Who Issued Visitor Pass To Intruder Meets Lok Sabha Speaker, Offers Justification

New Delhi: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MP Pratap Simha met with Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla on Wednesday to clarify the issuance of a visitor pass to one of the individuals who breached Parliament security earlier this week.

Reports revealed that Simha, under whose name the pass was issued, informed the Speaker that the father of the accused, Sagar Sharma, resides in his constituency of Mysuru and had requested the pass for the purpose of visiting the newly constructed Parliament building.

Simha further emphasized that he maintained constant communication with his personal assistant and office to facilitate Sharma’s visit. He also conveyed to the Speaker that he possessed no additional information beyond what he had already shared.

This incident has sparked significant concern regarding Parliament security protocols, prompting an investigation into the matter. The unauthorized entry highlights potential vulnerabilities within the security system, necessitating a thorough review and implementation of stricter measures to prevent similar occurrences in the future.
