BJP to Fight Solo in Odisha, To Form Govt in State, Reiterates Manmohan Samal

Bhubaneswar: Putting water on all speculations related to an alliance with the BJD, the Odisha BJP president Manmohan Samal declared that his party will fight the elections solo to form the government in Odisha.

Speaking to newsmen in Bhubaneswar on Thursday, he denied of any the BJP-BJD alliance talks. He reiterated that the BJP will fight the 2024 elections alone and will form the government in Odisha.

“The BJP will form the government in Odisha. We will fight the polls with the support of people and their blessings,” Samal said.

A week back, he had refuted the BJD-BJP alliance talks and said that “no such topic had been discussed at a party meeting in New Delhi”.

Making a tacit comment of the recent talks about the possible BJD-BJP alliance, Odisha Chief Minister and BJD president Naveen Patnaik had said ‘rumour’ and ‘lies’ are the worst elements in politics.

The state BJP leadership, which was camping in Delhi, met Home Minister Amit Shah on Wednesday. According to sources, the BJD has called up an emergency meeting at Naveen Niwas on Thursday, which will be attended by senior party leaders and the party’s district observers.
