Car Rams Kanwariyas In Ganjam, 2 Dead 11 Injured

Berhampur: At least two kanwariyas died and 11 others were seriously injured when a car speeding car rammed into them near Betnoi near Berhampur in Ganjam district on Monday morning.

According to reports, a group of around 17 kanwariyas was on traveling from Aska to Tadakeswar Temple in Arakhpur village carrying the holy water, when they met with the accident.

The speeding car hit the group of kanwaiyas killing one of them on the spot and injuring others in the group. Another injured kanwariya died while under treatment at the MKCG Medical College and Hospital in Berhampur.

The deceased were identified as Mukuna Behera (32) and Anita Kumari Jena (38) of Arakhpur village. All the 11 injured are admitted to MKCG Medical College Hospital. Six other kanwariyas escaped unhurt.
