CBSE Class 10th, 12th Supplementary Exams to Be Held from July 15

New Delhi: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) announced that supplementary exams for Class 10 and 12 students would be held from July 15, 2024. This follows the board’s adoption of the nomenclature change recommended by the National Education Policy 2020, replacing “compartment exam” with “supplementary exam.”

More than 1.32 lakh students qualify for the supplementary exams in Class 10, while over 1.22 lakh students from Class 12 are eligible.

Class 12 students can retake one subject, while Class 10 students are eligible to reappear for a maximum of two subjects.

Eligibility for the supplementary exams extends to three categories of students: those unable to pass two subjects in class 10, those unable to pass one subject in class 12 and placed in the compartment category, students declared pass by replacing a sixth or seventh subject, and those in classes 10 and 12 who wish to enhance their performance in two and one subjects respectively.
