Child Labourer Kills Employer in Ganjam for Non-Payment of Dues

Berhampur: A minor employed in a fast food joint in Gopalpur beach resort in Ganjam district of Odisha allegedly murdered his employer for not paying his dues.

He was nabbed by police and produced in court on Wednesday.

The juvenile accused is from the Bhanjanagar area. He was working at a fast food restaurant owned by one Jagannath Nayak in Gopalpur.

It is alleged that Jagananth had not paid the promised salary to the child labourer for the past few months. The juvenile was irked as he was not getting anything in return for his labour.

When his demand for payment was not heeded by the fast food joint owner, the young boy attacked Jagannath with a stone and an iron rod. His lethal blows killed Jagannath.

Gopalpur police have registered a case and an Investigation is underway.
