Pottangi in Koraput Dist Receives Highest 106mm Rain in 24 Hours

Bhubaneswar: During the past 24 hours, Pottangi block in Odisha’s Koraput district recorded 106 mm of rainfall because of Cyclone Michaung, which made landfall in Andhra Pradesh on Tuesday. Pottangi received the highest rainfall in the state in the last 24 hours.

As per Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) data, during the past 24 hours, Odisha received an average rainfall of 6.5 mm. The average rainfall in Odisha from December 1 to 6 was 7.5 mm.

The districts under orange warning on Wednesday include Malkangiri, Koraput and Rayagada. They are likely to receive isolated heavy to very heavy rainfall.

Gajapati, Ganjam, Kandhamal, Kalahandi and Nabarangpur districts are under yellow alert for Wednesday.
