Chinese Prez Xi Jinping May Not Attend G20 Summit in Delhi

Chinese President Xi Jinping may skip the G20 leaders summit in New Delhi next week.

As per reports, Chinese Premier Li Qiang is expected to represent Beijing at the September 9-10 G20 summit meeting in New Delhi.

Russian President Vladimir Putin has already informed that he will not visit New Delhi for the G20 summit. Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov will attend the summit instead.

It was expected that the G20 summit in New Delhi may become the venue, where US President Joe Biden, who has confirmed his attendance, would meet Chinese President Xi Jinping to stabilise soured relations between the two countries. Xi and Biden last met during the G20 summit in Bali, Indonesia in November 2022.
