Putin Sworn in as President of Russia for 6th Term, US and European Countries Boycott Ceremony

Russian President Vladimir Putin took the oath of office for a new six-year presidential term on Tuesday.

His oathtaking ceremony was boycotted by the United States and several countries of the European Union. They boycotted to show up their protest against the Russian invasion of Ukraine.

In March this year, Putin won the presidential polls in a landslide victory.

But several Western countries did not accept the election as a true one with the allegation that the voters were not given a real alternative. This allegation was refuted by Moscow with the claim that Putin enjoys the overwhelming support of the Russian people.
