CM Naveen Patnaik Lays Foundation for Welspun Group’s Integrated Textiles Complex in Choudwar

Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik laid the foundation stone for Welspun Group’s integrated textiles manufacturing facility and warehousing complex at Choudwar in Odisha’s Cuttack district.

This integrated textile complex will come up at a cost of around Rs 3000 crore. This textile industry complex will generate employment for around 10,000 people.

Welspun Group is one of the largest integrated textiles manufacturing companies in the country with facilities in Maharashtra, Gujarat, Karnataka, and Telangana.

For its Choudwar project, the Wespun Group will procure cotton from the western and southern districts of Kalahandi, Balangir, Rayagada and Gajapati.

BK Goenka, the Chairman of Welspun Group, during his address said, “We are grateful for the support and commitment shown by the Chief Minister and the Government of Odisha. Their dedication to fostering an environment conducive to industrial growth and development has been instrumental in bringing our project to fruition. Through the integrated textiles manufacturing facility and warehousing complex, we want to create a world-class textiles ecosystem in Odisha and take forward the legacy of Biju Babu.”
