Collector’s Security Guard Shot Dead Wife, 2 Children Before Suicide in Telangana

Hyderabad: A police constable posted as a security guard of Siddipet District Collector in Telangana shot dead his wife and two children before ending his own life.

This shocking incident happened on Friday at Ramunipatta village of Chinnakodur mandal in Telangana’s Siddipet district. According to reports, police constable Akula Naresh (35), posted as gunman of district Collector Prashant Jeevan Patil, killed his wife Chaitanya (30), son Revanth (6) and daughter Himashri (5) by firing at them from a revolver. Later he shot himself with the same gun.

Naresh resorted to this drastic act while he was not on duty and was at home. Alerted by gunshots, neighbours rushed to the scene and called up the police.

According to villagers, Naresh was burdened by debts because of his online betting addiction.
