Congress Alleges Attack on Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra in Assam, Rahul Gandhi Responds With Flying Kisses

Dispur: Congress leader Rahul Gandhi greeted protesters with flying kisses during the Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra in Jamiguri Ghat, Assam. He stepped out of his bus, mingled with the crowd, and later returned, expressing resilience against BJP workers’ slogans.

Addressing the gathering, Gandhi asserted that the Congress is not intimidated by the BJP-RSS and their attempts to disrupt the yatra. He emphasized that while opponents may tear posters and flags, they cannot alter the Congress ideology, stating, “We don’t fear anybody.”

Earlier, Congress general secretary Jairam Ramesh reported an attack on his vehicle in Jumugurihat, where unruly BJP supporters allegedly tore off Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra stickers and shouted anti-BJNY slogans. Ramesh accused Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma of orchestrating the incident.

Congress leader KC Venugopal also decried what he called “complete lawlessness” along the yatra route, accusing the CM of deploying goons to disrupt the peaceful march for justice. Despite the challenges faced, Venugopal expressed determination, stating that the incidents only strengthened their resolve to ensure defeat for Sarma and Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

The political turmoil in Assam continues as the Congress leaders remain steadfast in their commitment to the Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra, undeterred by opposition tactics.
