Varanasi Court Reserves Order on Gyanvapi Mosque Scientific Survey, Verdict on July 21

Varanasi: A Varanasi court has reserved its order for July 21 regarding a petition requesting a scientific survey of the Gyanvapi mosque, which is situated adjacent to the Kashi Vishwanath temple.

The petition, filed by the Hindu party involved in the case, specifically sought the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) to conduct a comprehensive survey of the entire Gyanvapi mosque complex.

The counsel representing the Hindu side, Vishnu Shankar Jain, stated that they presented their argument for an archaeological and scientific investigation of the entire Gyanvapi complex, with the exception of the ‘vajukhana’ area. After hearing both sides, the court has decided to reserve the verdict until July 21. Jain emphasized that resolving the Kashi Vishwanath temple-Gyanvapi mosque dispute would necessitate an archaeological investigation of the entire mosque complex.
