Criminal’s Family Fires at Police Team Killing a Constable in UP

Lucknow: A police constable was killed when family members of an alleged criminal fired on the police team that was trying to arrest him in Dharni Dheerpur Nagariya village in Kannauj district of Uttar Pradesh on Monday.

Police constable Sachin Rathi (28) sustained a bullet injury in the incident that happened in Vishungarh police station area. He was admitted to a hospital in Kanpur, where he succumbed to his injuries.

The alleged criminal Ashok Kumar alias Munna Yadav, and his son were shot in retaliatory firing and were admitted to a hospital in Kannauj.

Munna Yadav has 20 cases registered against him along with several non-bailable warrants.

Receiving information that he was at his home, a police team laid siege to the house. Munna Yadav, his wife and son opened fire at the police team.

Constable Rathi was shot and was rushed to Kanpur for treatment where he died late in the night.
