Cyclonic Circulation Over Bay of Bengal to Bring Heavy Rainfall to Odisha: IMD

Bhubaneswar: Odisha is on high alert as a fresh cyclonic circulation has developed over the north Bay of Bengal, promising heavy to very heavy rainfall across the state in the next few days.

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a warning, stating that a low-pressure area is likely to form within the next 24 hours due to a cyclonic circulation persisting over Gangetic West Bengal and adjoining south Bangladesh. This weather system is expected to bring significant rainfall to Odisha, which has already experienced several wet spells.

Besides Odisha, east Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh are also in the crosshairs of this weather system, with forecasts predicting rainfall in various parts of these states.

As the situation develops, authorities in Odisha are closely monitoring the situation and taking necessary precautions to mitigate potential impacts of the heavy rainfall.
