Distressed by Death of 4 Family Members in Cylinder Blast, Balangir Youth Ends Life

Balangir: Following the death of four of his family members in an LPG cylinder blast, a 19-year-old youth allegedly committed suicide in Belapada of Odisha’s Balangir district on Saturday.

He ended his life by hanging himself. The death toll in last week’s cylinder explosion rose to four on Friday as one more victim succumbed to his burns.

The family members were watching television inside the house when the LPG cylinder in the kitchen caught fire and exploded.

The injured were rushed to Kantabanji Community Health Centre (CHC) in critical condition. Later, they were shifted to a private hospital in Rourkela.

One of them died on February 12 while two others succumbed to their injuries on February 15. Another person died on Friday. The rest two are undergoing treatment and their condition is stated to be critical.
