MKCG Med College Ragging: 4 Students Banned from Campus

Berhampur: Taking action in the recent incident of ragging and assault on a junior student, the anti-ragging committee of the MKCG Medical College in Berhampur temporarily banned four students from the campus.

Fourth-year students of the medical college, Stalin Mohapatra and Jyotiprakash Rout were ordered to stay out of the medical college campus for two months. Both will have to leave the hostel and are barred from attending classes during the period, said Santosh Kumar Mishra, Principal, of MKCG Medical College.

Two other fourth-year students, Suryakant Nayak and Ramesh Sethi were ordered to vacate the hostel and not attend classes for two weeks on charges of allowing ragging activities.

The ragging victim suffered injuries on his face and neck when he was beaten up by the accused senior students. A complaint in this regard was lodged at the Baidyanathpur police station in Berhampur.

The first-year medical student was beaten up by the seniors on February 9 night after band rehearsal.
