ED Summons MLA Prafulla Samal and His Son for Questioning

Bhubaneswar: The Enforcement Directorate (ED) on Saturday summoned the NJD MLA of Bhandaripokhari Prafulla Samal and his son Prayaskanti over their alleged involvement in a money laundering case pertaining to alleged misappropriation of funds by the management of Bhadrak Institute of Engineering and Technology (BIET) in Barapada.

The ED has directed the MLA and his son to appear before it with all relevant documents.

Prayaskanti, the president of BIET management is accused of misappropriation of the BIET funds to buy lands worth crores of rupees in Bhubaneswar.

These summons follow the ED raids at places linked to the MLA and his son in Bhadrak town and Bhubaneswar.

On Friday, the ED officials seized a Fortuner SUV and Rs 9 lakh cash from the house of Prayaskanti located at Palashpalli in Bhubaneswar.
