Kejriwal Wins Trust Vote in Delhi Assembly, Says AAP Will Free India from BJP in 2029

New Delhi: Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Saturday won the trust vote in the Delhi Assembly.

Speaking in the Assembly ahead of the trust vote, Kejriwal said, “The Aam Aadmi Party will free the country from the BJP in 2029 elections even if they win this year’s Lok Sabha polls.”

AAP is the biggest challenger to the BJP, which is why it is under attack from all sides,” he added.

“We have a majority in the House, but this confidence motion was needed because the BJP was trying to poach AAP MLAs. BJP claims to be ‘Ram bhakt’ but they stopped medicines of poor people at our hospitals,” Kejriwal said.

This third motion of confidence was brought in the Delhi Assembly by Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, who alleged that the BJP tried to poach AAP MLAs to topple his government.

The previous confidence motions came in August 2022 and March 2023 because of similar allegations that the BJP was carrying out “Operation Lotus” to poach AAP MLAs.

The AAP has 62 MLAs in the 70-member Delhi Assembly.

The opposition BJP has eight MLAs, of whom seven are currently suspended.
