Ex-BJD MLA Balabhadra Majhi Quits Party

Bhubaneswar: Former BJD MLA Balabhadra Majhi resigned from the primary membership of the Biju Janata Dal (BJD) on Monday.

In his resignation letter sent to the BJD president Naveen Patnaik, he wrote, “I do hereby relinquish from the primary membership of the Biju Janata Dal. Thanks a lot for allowing me to work for a long period along with you since the formation of the party in 1997.” he wrote in the letter.

Balbhadra Majhi, who represented the Lanjigarh assembly seat in the past alleged that he was being neglected in the BJD. He was the MLA of Lanjigarh from 2014 to 2019. But he failed to get the BJD ticket in 2019. Pradip Dishari was given the BJD ticket for Lanjigarh in 2019, and he won.
