Ex-MP Rabi Narayan Pani Quits BJP

Bhubaneswar: Former Lok Sabha member, Rabi Narayan Pani resigned from the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Friday.

He sent his resignation letter to the state BJP president, Manmohan Samal, stating, “Of late, I have understood that there is no place of ethics and principle in the present day of politics. Any Tom Dick and Harry is being given all sort of power and responsibility by you people by overlooking senior and sincere people like us who are forced to sit idle like silent spectators”.

“Hence, I prefer to resign from the primary membership of the party with immediate effect,” he added.

In 1989, Pani was elected to the Lok Sabha from Deogarh Parliamentary constituency. He won the Assembly Elections in 2009 from Pallahara constituency on BJD ticket. But in 2019, he left the BJD to join the BJP.
