Exchange of Fire Between Maoists & Security Forces in Paikmal Jungle of Bargarh Dist

Bargarh: An exchange of fire erupted between Maoists and security forces in the Paikmal jungle under the Bargarh district on Friday morning.

As per reports, the Maoists fired at the security forces involved in a combing operation in the Paikmal jungle. The security personnel retaliated ensuing a gun battle between them.

Following the fire exchange, senior police officials including Bargarh SP, IGP of Northern Range rushed to the spot of the exchange of fire.

There were no reports of injuries or casualties from either side.

According to police sources, Maoists from Chhattisgarh are active in the jungles of Bargarh.
