Fake Candidate Appearing NEET and 2 Middlemen Arrested In Bhadrak

Bhadrak: A dummy candidate who impersonated another examinee in the National Entrance and Eligibility Test (NEET) at a centre in Odisha’s Bhadrak as well as two others linked to him was arrested by the police.

The arrested impersonator was identified as Ankit Raj, a third-year medical college student from West Bengal’s Kolkata. Bhadrak police have also arrested the middleman Aditya Kumar and his associate Rajesh Kumar Madhukar in connection with this fake NEET candidate racket. Kumar and Madhukar are from Bihar.

According to sources, an invigilator at SBD International School in Bhadrak, where Ankit was appearing for the NEET exam on behalf of one Saswat Tripathy on Sunday, suspected that the candidate had manipulated the photograph on the admit card of the candidate.

The fingerprint scan of Ankit did not match with that on the Aadhaar card submitted by the NEET applicant.

The case was handed over to the police and the investigation revealed that Saswat had contacted Aditya to help him find a person who can write the NEET exam for him in exchange of money. Aditya with the help of Rajesh contacted Ankit, who agreed to appear in the exam for Saswat for Rs 10 lakh.
