Famous Political Cartoonist Ajit Ninan Passes Away

Bengaluru: Renowned cartoonist Ajit Ninan breathed his last at his residence in Mysuru on Friday. He was 68.

He is remembered for his cartoons and illustrations in India Today magazine. His ‘Centrestage’ cartoon series in ‘India Today’ magazine and ‘Ninan’s World’ in ‘Times of India’ were famous among the readers. His popular cartoon character ‘Detective Moochhwala’ published in ‘Target’ was popular among children.

“He passed away early this morning in his apartment. I think it’s a cardiac arrest,” India Today quoted a family member of Ninan.

Ninan leaves behind wife, two daughters and two grand-children.

Ninan was alone at home during his death. His ailing wife had gone to their daughter’s place in Goa.
