Female Postmaster Murdered in Sundargarh, Stabbed Body Found in Field

Sundargarh: The body of a female postmaster identified as Snigdha Pradhan was discovered in a field in the Lefripara block of Sundargarh district on Tuesday. Her body had multiple stabbing injuries. The assailant had also tried to crush body parts with a stone.

She was serving as a postmaster in Telendihi.

According to her family members, on Monday evening Snigdha had an altercation with a male friend. After that, she went out and did not return back home.

Her parents lodged a missing complaint at the Lefripara police station. On Tuesday her body was located in a field in Kurumkel Belsariapada. Police have seized the body for autopsy. Although exact reason behind the murder is being investigated, it is hinted that she was murdered at some other place and then her body was disposed of in the field.

A case has been registered and a probe is underway.
