Female Teacher & Her 2 Sons Die of Food Poisoning in Ganjam District

Berhampur: Three persons of a family died of food poisoning in Ganjam district. Two others of the family have been admitted to hospital in serious condition.

The deceased included a female teacher of the Mahatma Gandhi High School, Sabitri Behera, who stayed in Shergarh of Digaphandi block in Ganjam district. Her twin sons also died of food poisoning.

According to her husband, who has been admitted to hospital in serious condition, he had discovered his wife and two sons in unconscious condition on Monday morning. Both children of five years of age were rushed to the Shergarh Community Health Centre (CHC), where doctors declared them dead. Meanwhile, the female teacher was also discovered to have died at home.

As per reports, this family had slept on Sunday night after having their dinner. It is suspected that they had developed severe food poisoning that claimed three lives. The mother-in-law of the dead teacher, Urmila Dakua has also been admitted to hospital in serious condition.

According to police sources, the real reason behind these deaths can be ascertained only after autopsy. Investigation in on.
