Five Killed as Two Bikes Collide Head-On In Ganjam District

Berhampur: Five persons lost their lives in a head-on collision between a scooter and a bike near Kesaripatna village under Bhanjanagar block in Ganjam district late on Thursday night. Another person was seriously injured in this accident.

According to police sources, this accident occurred at around 11.30 pm. Three victims died on the spot. Two others succumbed to their injuries at the Surada Community Health Centre.

Seriously injured, Purna Guada of Dulada village is fighting for life at the MKCG Medical College and Hospital in Berhampur.

The deceased have been identified as Srikanta Gouda of Asurabandha, Manoj Dakua of Dulada, and Mahendra Nayak, Jayant Batatya and Rajani Gouda.

Bhanjanagar police reached the spot and started an investigation into the incident.
