Former Editor of RSS Mouthpiece Run Over by Train in Tamil Nadu

Chennai: Sundara Jothi, the former editor of RSS’ Tamil magazine “Vijayabaratham” breathed his last after being run over by a train.

The 68-year-old was a full-time worker of the RSS. He was suffering from low vision and hearing loss. Because of his diminished senses, he was hit by an express train on December 10 evening near Chetpet railway station. The Tamil Nadu RSS state headquarters is located at Chetpet in Chennai.

He was popular among Sangh activists as ‘Jothi Ji’. He was the editor of the RSS’ official Tamil magazine “Vijayabaratham” for over a decade and also had performed administrative functions, a statement of the RSS said. A ‘pracharak’ for over four decades, he has held various positions in the organisation.

Amiable in nature, he was articulate and well-versed in Tamil and English.
