French Prez Macron Arrives in Jaipur, To Have Road Show With PM Modi

Jaipur: French President Emmanuel Macron arrived in Rajasthan’s Jaipur on Thursday afternoon. He will attend the Republic Day celebrations in Delhi as the chief guest.

The French president was received by Rajasthan Governor Kalraj Mishra and Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma at the Jaipur airport.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who is in Uttar Pradesh’s Bulandshahr, will also reach Jaipur later.

They will hold a roadshow from Jantar Mantar to Hawa Mahal before holding a meeting at Hotel Rambagh Palace in the evening.

Macron will start his Jaipur visit by touring the Amber Fort. Later he will be welcomed by PM Modi, and the two leaders will tour the pink city together. The French President is expected to have a road show from Tripolia Gate to Sanganeri Gate during his sightseeing.

French President Macron will visit Jaipur’s iconic tourist places including Jantar Mantar, Hawa Mahal, and Albert Hall along with Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday evening.

The two leaders will have photo-ops at Jantar Mantar, Hawa Mahal and Albert Hall Museum.

Macron will have handicraft buying and payment through UPI. Both will enjoy vendor tea of cups and make UPI payments inside the walled city. He will take part in a gala dinner at the round table at Hotel Taj, Ram Bagh Palace.

In Delhi, Macron will attend the Republic Day parade at Kartavya Path as the chief guest. A contingent from the French Army is set to participate in this year’s Republic Day parade.

Macron is the sixth French leader (fifth president) to be the chief guest at India’s Republic Day after President François Hollande in 2016, Nicolas Sarkozy in 2008, Jacques Chirac in 1998, Valery Giscard d’Estaing in 1980, and Prime Minister Jacques Chirac in 1976.
