Govt launches Subsidized Chana Dal under ‘Bharat Dal’ Brand Name

New Delhi: Under the brand name ‘Bharat Dal’ the Central government has started sell of subsidized chana dal. Union Commerce Minister Piyush Goyal on Monday launched the sell subsidized ‘Bharat Dal’ at the rate of Rs 60 per kg for one kg pack and Rs 55 per kg for 30 kg pack.

National Agricultural Cooperative Marketing Federation (NAFED) is selling ‘Bharat Dal’ in the Delhi-NCR region.

It is an effort of the Centre to make pulses available to consumers at affordable prices by converting the chana stock of the government into chana dal.

The milling and packaging of the chana dal is undertaken by NAFED. Retail outlets the NAFED, NCCF, Kendriya Bhandar, and Safal will market it.

This subsidized chana dal, will also be available to state governments for use under their welfare schemes, police, jails, and also for distribution through their consumer cooperative outlets.
