Gunman Kills 15, Injures 24 Before Shot Dead at Prague University

A gunman fired indiscriminately killing at least 15 persons and injuring 24 others at a Prague university on Thursday. The assailant in volved in Czech Republic’s worst mass-shooting incident was shot down.

According to reports, the assailant was a student, who resorted to bloodshed in the philosophy department building of Charles University. The shooter is said to be a student of the same department. His name has not been disclosed.

The shooting took place shortly after 3 pm (1400 GMT).

Prime Minister Petr Fiala cancelled his trip to the east of the country and was en route to Prague. Gun crime is relatively rare in the Czech Republic.
