Haryana Hooch Tragedy Deaths Rise to 19, Seven Arrested

Chandigarh: The death toll following consumption of suspected poisonous liquor has risen to 19 in Haryana. Police have arrested seven persons in connection with the case. They include the sons of a Congress leader and a Jannayak Janata Party (JJP) leader.

These spurious liquor-related deaths happened in the villages of Mandebari, Panjeto Ka Majra, Phoosgarh, and Saran in Yamunanagar and Ambala districts.

Ambala police seized 200 crates of counterfeit liquor that was manufactured in an abandoned factory and supplied to arrested suspects in Yamunanagar.

Police are conducting raids to arrest persons involved in the sale of spurious liquor that allegedly led to the deaths.

As per reports, two migrant labourers from Uttar Pradesh died in Ambala on Thursday after consuming spurious liquor locally brewed illegally.
