Head-On Collision Between Two Buses in Ganjam Leaves One Dead, 10 Injured

Berhampur: At least one person died and 10 others were seriously injured when two passenger buses had a head-on collision near Dhaugaon in Ganjam district late on Friday night.

According to reports, the deceased was the driver of one of these buses. He was identified as Balkrushna Gaud, the driver of the Dilkhus bus travelling to Malkangiri from Bhubaneswar.

This bus collided with another bus coming from the Aska side.

Following the mishap, police and Odisha Fire Services Department personnel rushed to the spot to rescue the passengers from the buses. The injured were admitted to hospitals in Aska and Berhampur.

Most passengers in both buses were asleep when the accident occurred. It is alleged that the driver of the bus coming from Aska side was inebriated. Police investigation is on to ascertain the exact reason behind the accident.
