Heinrich Klaasen Announces Test Retirement After Just 4 Matches For South Africa

South African wicketkeeper-batsman Heinrich Klaasen on Monday announced his retirement from Test cricket after playing just four matches for South Africa from 2019 to 2023.

Klaasen, who made his Test debut against India, cited his decision as difficult but expressed excitement about new challenges representing the Proteas in white-ball cricket.

In a statement, Klaasen said, “Retiring from red-ball cricket was a tough call, considering it’s my favorite format. The experiences, both on and off the field, shaped me into the cricketer I am today. Representing my country in Tests has been an incredible journey.”
