Home Guard Arrested for Stealing Police Bike in Bhadrak

Bhadrak: A police home guard, Chandan Barik was arrested in the Bhadrak district of Odisha for allegedly stealing a police motorcycle and making attempts to change its colour and number to dispose of it.

The accused home guard was posted at Bhadrak reserve police. Chandan is alleged to have stolen the bike of the reserve police.

To escape suspicion, Chandan filed a complaint regarding the theft of the concerned bike at the Bhadrak Town Police Station stating that the bike was stolen while it was parked on the reserve police campus.

However, investigation revealed that the home guard Chandan was involved in the bike theft. Chandan has also attempted to change the number and colour of the bike to hide his misdeed. Investigating police officials raided a bike repair shop in Bhadrak and seized the stolen bike. A mechanic of the garage, identified as Shadat Khan, was also arrested for assisting the erring home guard in the theft.
